Not a long time ago the large hotel search engines such as booking.com or hotelscombined were exclusively for larger hotel chains, but to compete with rapidly growing vacation rental sites such as Airbnb , Roomorama and Tripadvisor the larger hotel websites have decided to let private owners advertise on their sites for free and some have established their own alternatives to Airbnb
